Linda Lunnen

Playing Career:

Linda received a full scholarship to play volleyball for Duke University where her team won two ACC Division 1 Championships in 1991 and 1992.  Linda was a starting middle hitter/blocker for Duke for 4 years and also was coached as a back-up setter.

While in high school, Linda played for the Jersey Girls Volleyball Club winning the East Coast Championship her senior year.  Her high school team won the New Jersey State Championship her junior year.  

Coaching Career:

Linda is entering her fifth year as Club Director and Coach of the Black Bears Volleyball Club. She has just finished her seventh season as coach of the Heritage Christian Academy middle school volleyball team.  She is CAP 1 certified.


Linda is the mother of Olivia and Emily and is the physical therapist for Cherokee Central Schools.

Morgan Williams

Morgan received a full athletic volleyball scholarship to Western Carolina University after graduating high school a term early in January of 2017. Beginning her college career at WCU, Morgan completed three spring seasons and two fall seasons before quitting the team to pursue her passion for teaching and ministry. 

While in high school, Morgan played four years of Varsity volleyball at Newton-Conover, earning Most Valuable Player and All-Conference honors her junior and senior seasons. Morgan played club volleyball for I.C. Stars for five consecutive years out of Statesville in Iredell County while she received offers to play in college.


Morgan is returning to coach at Black Bears for her second year, continuing and creating new relationships with the players, the coaches, and their families. 


Morgan is studying Elementary Education at WCU and plans to become a full-time teaching missionary once she graduates Western in December of 2020

Lauren Queen

Lauren was born and raised in Houston, Texas where she started playing Volleyball when she was 8. After moving to Charlotte, she played at the National level with CJV, and then with Triangle while living in Raleigh. Lauren graduated from University of North Carolina Wilmington and moved to Cullowhee in 2014. She is excited to start coaching and sharing her love of the game! She is married to McKenzie and they have 2 daughters.

WCU Connection

Jackson County Black Bears has established a new relationship with the Western Carolina University volleyball coaching staff and team. The WCU players will assist with the coaching responsibilities during this coming club season.  WCU's head volleyball coach, Karen Glover, has also invited our players to attend monthly volleyball clinics given by herself and her players.

It is our commitment at Black Bears Volleyball Club that all of our coaches be registered with USA Volleyball.  This requires continuing education specific to coaching volleyball, SafeSport education, and a thorough background check.
